1)There are traffic restrictions on the MAQ SBC route.
2)SR hasnt made any effort to run even a weekly train via this route.
These may be the possible reasons.

Heavy Ghat section ! And its more profitable to run via Kannur, CLT to MAQ
More Profitability OK, but they can divert or introduce one or two trains through shortest route. Not even a single train, which connects Chennai –Mangalore in this route.
Yes also recently the ghat section are getting lot of trains, so I think its worth introducing a new train from MAQ to MAS via SMVT

Ratnachal runs from Visakhapatnam to Vijayawada in the afternoon and yesterday there was heavy rush due to cancellations of other trains as well as Vskp MTM and Rayagada Guntur night trains which cater to GS and SL passengers. The situation may be same from Diwali due to frequent cancellations of night trains and the period being Karthika Masam and marriage season. An article is published in today local edition of Eenadu about the heavy rush.
Same situation in Janmabhoomi everyday from past 6 months due to cancellation of Uday and Simhadri express....
