I have question, why aren't more Kanpur bound trains run via the Unchahar Dalmau line?
Not only does it effectively avoids the congested Lucknow, but it is shortest NR line from BSB/PRG side.
If NR doubles and develops this line, it will be a good alternative to the DDU-PRYJ-CNB section of the HWH-NDLS line...

Hzbn has to be also connected in such a manner, that trains from Kolkata can directly ply in without reversing at either Kqr or Brka.
As for the proposed line, I can't see any other benefits than to facilitate more and easier Coal loading and movement.
