The so-called premium Duronto Express encountered significant operational issues when its WAP-7 locomotive failed near Ghaziabad. After reaching Dadri, a WAG-9 was substituted, limiting the train's speed to 100 km/h despite the section's 130 km/h capability. The train was repeatedly moved to loop lines at smaller stations, leading to at least 15 other trains overtaking it, including the Farakka Express. It's particularly concerning that, despite Ghaziabad being a major hub with one of the largest electric loco sheds in the country, an alternative WAP-7 could not be provided.
