Great
Company Quarter Master Havildar (CQMH) Abdul Hamid was a soldier of the 4th Battalion, The Grenadiers Regiment of the Indian Army and a recipient of the Param Vir Chakra (PVC), India's highest gallantry award. During the Indo-Pak War of 1965, he played a decisive role in the Battle of Asal Uttar, where he single-handedly destroyed seven Pakistani M48 Patton tanks using a 106mm recoilless gun mounted on a jeep. His courageous actions significantly weakened the Pakistani armored offensive. Despite being heavily outnumbered, he continued fighting until he was martyred on September 10, 1965. For his extraordinary bravery, indomitable spirit, and supreme sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra. His legacy remains an enduring symbol of courage and patriotism in India.

However, he is officially credited with destroying three enemy tanks before being fatally wounded, but his overall efforts contributed to the destruction of seven Pakistani M48 Patton tanks in the battle. His bravery played a crucial role in India’s victory at Asal Uttar, where the Pakistani 1st Armored Division suffered heavy losses.

These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
