I have calculated the revenue of major cities in Uttar Pradesh and organized them in order. Please note that the revenues of the stations are rounded off, and the asterisk and bracket (*) indicates that the station listed does not belong to the respective district but primarily serves that city only.
Please do let me know if I've done any mistake I'll be really glad to correct it and I've taken cities with a revenue of more than 100 Crores and stations with a revenue of more than 5 Crore only. ...

GKP has tons of trains originating from it. Due to it being NER HQ, in gets enough attention. GKP doesn't need 'premium' trains; the worth of a station isn't judged by how many flashy trains it has but by whether it can serve the needs of the local public or not. Eastern UP doesn't need full AC trains. Counterpoint can also be said that the current day's trains that start from GKP would have been considered premium hardly a decade ago. After all, who would have thought that GKP-LJN loop line would one day get 10+ AC coach train when even the main line didn't have that many.
Kanpur lacks an alternative terminal. Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, Allahabad, Ayodhya, even Bareily have multiple stations from which to start/stop trains at. But Kanpur only has CNB. CPA only serves a few passenger trains and half of them still end up going via CNB only. The only rival is GKP which too lacks a proper secondary terminal.
While I agree that Gorakhpur has good connectivity and several dedicated trains to other cities, I disagree with the statement that "Eastern Uttar Pradesh does not need fully air-conditioned trains."
Some of the most successful and popular Vande Bharat trains operate from Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, demonstrating the demand. It's just a matter of selecting the right routes.

Quite accurate guess on both station wise earning and city wise earning as well.
It was great to read that old blog, Gorakhpur and Jabalpur definitely enjoys the status of being NER and WCR HQ with so many originating trains from the same station respectively. Although I think Jabalpur earning isn't that high (I'm not sure).

2A lower, nice. Did someone ask you to interchange their berths yet? :p Every other time I get a lower berth in an overnight train, there is almost always someone ready to ask for exchanging berths.

If there is one iconic canceled train, you could restore watt would you choose? I would have chosen the Toofan Express. It provided a proper overnight connectivity b/w SGNR and NDLS and then connected small stops with the national capital, Agra, Patna and Howrah.
