Passengers wishing to travel by premium trains can not plan their booking.
1-As the booking plans open for only 'Two weeks' ARP 60 days does not apply to these trains.
2-train itself runs once a week.

For which category of passengers these trains are run?

if you are comparing fare, please compare 'Speed' and travel time too.
And example of booking time is given to highlight airlines flexibility to book tickets so advance.
For 120 days also people are arguing that 'touts' misuse and hence reduced to 60 days.
But it is all 'IR' way .... trial and error method...

The agent/prs share is very less compared to what railways is clinching right now.
Railway needs broad approach and here they want to serve only limited section or persuading border class to shell more.
Why Duronto failed ? One of major factor is all AC Duronto.
Any premium with 4 SL will serve bigger section and all knows SL class needs least maintenance compared
to AC.

M not into failure or success,,but just highlighted not to link premium wih elite!!! AC class in IR isnt remain elite now & leakage happening coz of airline shift out of no available berth cant be compesated by SL Coaches!!! Its simply to offer lower class accomodation to some1 who willingly can pay hefty amount to agents/touts or instead, easily can board flight!!!
SL..yes SL Coaches gets utilized as Special run or in premium, where SL demand is critical...
Duronto didnt failed but several non-demanding route made few as failure...& same goes well
for Premium Exp...Further, Duronto are regular, while Premium are heavy seasonal temporary trains...
Not all SL equipped Duronto are success and neither SL equipped Special runs zam-packed....When all these dont happen, thn its better not to bet Premium with SL as full pack run!!!

Its u who induced airline example, when u self are quite aware about the difference!!!
Further, premium dont run late as like SPL but their slot kept intact...which isnt a regular deed by IR!!!
Trial & error happens in airline even, with many flight run gets abandoned with time after analysis of less patronage & not all airline runs to full capacity...thats y mostly they touch different destinations in a go...its profitability which matters & with flexible pricing, airline & premium both can manage profitability, even with 70 to 80% booking..its no crime!!!
Both Airline & Premium at end serve an option, for probable customer, who are left with no other option!!!

Premium are for those who have no option left and are ready to pay the premium fares. In flights also at last minute the price atleast triple the original price (but yes travel time is less). People used to pay to touts 1500/2000 per ticket and now they are paying the same to IR (this sentence was posted by IRIan some days ago too) and also IR is not forcing anyone. If you plan your journey 60 days prior, then well and good and if not look for tatkal. Even not available in tatkal and passenger needs to go he will not regret paying double the fare. So it is for those last minute passengers. Aur agar IR kuch kama leta hai to harz hi kya hai? Wo paisa IR ka loss hi kuch kam kar dega. IR knows that our politicians are such that they will not increase...
railway fare for their vote bank whoever minister be it.
