A train bound for Ernakulam in Kerala, reached Gulbarga in North Karnataka on Tuesday. The 16337 Okha-Ernakulam Express, that departed from Okha in Gujarat at 2am on Monday was diverted from Panvel as a goods train was derailed at Ratnagiri in Maharashtra.
As per diverted schedule, the train was supposed to run from Pune via Miraj, Belgaum, Londa, Madgaon, Karwar, Mangalore. However, it went on from Pune towards Solapur and arrived in Gulbarga. Passengers said they pulled the chain while train was crossing Gulbarga.
"When we asked the crew, they were totally clueless.

They brought train back to Gulbarga. They had assured at Solapur taking train via Hubli, Madgaon, Karwar and Mangalore but < br>
took it to Gulbarga," passengers said.
Adding to the irony, the station manager at Gulbarga pleaded ignorance about the episode. "My job is to signal and forward the train on to the next station," he said.
The crew of the train refused to speak on the wrong diversion, but indirectly expressed helplessness that they were totally in dilemma. "We were told at Pune to run via Londa, Madgaon, Karwar and Mangalore, but were directed to Solapur," they added.
However, passengers attributed the blunder to a communication gap among officials. Finally, train was reversed to Hotgi junction to continue the journey via Bijapur, Bagalkot, Gadag, Hubli, Londa, Madgaon, Karwar and Mangalore.Train, which was supposed to reach Ernakulam at 10.20pm on Tuesday, is expected to reach by evening on Wednesday.
Though train is rescheduled to run via Hubli, there was no information on the blunder at South Western Railway headquarter office in Hubli.

Didn't know that!! Nice to see old train giving a rare & shocking visit....But a 3 hours visit would have tortured the passengers.

Exactly and another thing to notice is, that in one news they said train finally went via Hotgi-Gadag-Hubli-Madgaon route and in another news they said train returned back to pune till 2:30 pm and continued its journey via Miraj-Londa-Madgaon route
/news/post/173943. Which one is right ?
If second option is used. from morning 6 am to afternoon 3 pm this train covered CR zonal journey of Pune - Gulbarga - Pune, kind of intercity. passengers might got frustrated.
