WDP4D is used for trains which need frequent acceleration and deceleration..
Matsyagandha and Netravati have 22 coaches and many halts.. So, to maintain the schedule of d train with a load of 22 coaches and frequent halts both these trains get WDP4D in order to have fast acceleration and to save time.
On the other hand Duronto has 15-16 coaches with very less halts.. Hence, a WDM3A loco can haul it with ease..

Koush the kid,
U have never faced a real exposure.
So let it b.
Enjoy with these puny monsters.
In real fact, a real liner, these modern EMD;s, can never match
...
a 2-6-6-4 set, not even til next decades.
a Harsh reality, and nothing else.
An ALCO, can fire up all its cylinders, can easily take the load on a small gradient too, and if speaks about a even more steep gradient, its the work Helper.
Even a EMD struggles with with a 58-70 wagon load unless the Processor identifies the load n actives the sanding trigger.
So enjoy in ur fantasy of these Diesel Electric, Ooops, i meant Indian Diesel Electrics.
CIAO fella.

To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...
