To accommodate the ever-increasing number of passengers between Jodhpur and Ahmedabad, both important business and tourist destinations, the Railways has introduced a bi-weekly superfast train.
“There are a lot of businessmen who travel between these two stations. But the only train connecting them is Suryanagri Express,” said Rajiv Sharma, divisional Railway manager, Jodhpur.

Saturday, a bi-weekly train will be run on trial basis for a month. This train will not only be faster because of its speed but also because it’ll take a shorter route,” he added.
The train (04821 UP) will start from 6am and will cover the distance in 7.5 hours reaching Ahmedabad by 1:30pm.
“The train, which is being called the Jodhpur-Ahmedabad express for now, has been introduced in the summers estimating the holiday rush, and is a great way to reach Mumbai,” Sharma said, adding that to reach Mumbai one can take the Shatabdi express and reach Bombay the same day by 9:30pm.
It is a completely air-conditioned train with an initial coach count of nine, seven of them being AC chair cars. It will have two power cars at its either end and will serve breakfast.
“I have booked a ticket for this train’s maiden journey. I was excited when I heard about this train’s introduction as I travel to Ahmedabad quite frequently,” said P Jain, a businessman.
“I can finish work and can to Jodhpur the same night by Suryanagri. This will complete my journey in 24 hrs,” he added.
The train received 50 per cent booking for its maiden journey.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. .
