trips24 10 blog postsBeware Passengers catering people are not disclosing the actual menu that is provided by the railways which costs Rs50/- only but instead the say menu is for Rs 102/-. These catering people are making money from passengers ignorance about this menu rate. Rs 50/- meal is called standard or Saada meal and contains "Dal,Chawal,Roti,Sabji,water" and Rs 100/- Meal is called Special and it contains " Dal,chawal,Roti and one worst special sabji", I do not think it is worth paying Rs 100/- , Veg noodles is worst for Rs 40/- you feel like puking after eating it.
So my advise carry your own food and have a safe and healthy journey " this was my experience on 5th June journey in this train"....

when i traveled in 12649 from kcg to jhs in peak summers the pantry car people were charging 20 for water bottle...then a group of students at BPQ got in the pantry car and started pulling the chain of the train , utlimately the pantry staff caretaker had to return the money of water bottle to so many pax ..also we wer given chicken thali in 90 rs and same was being served to ignorant pax at 130 rs ...they loot in this train ..
