Recently I travelled by Sec'bad-LTT duronto both to and from Sec'bad and Iam highlighting my experience.
This is one of the short overnight Duronto covering about 775 kms in 12 hours.
The train was hauled by a single WDM3A loco # 177664 series from Gooty shed.
Coach look and feel
-------------------
...

The coaches were neat and tidy.
Journey was comfortable as this train is a brand new train
with the latest coupling technology for jerk free rides.
Punctuality
-----------
The train departed 10 minutes late from Secunderabad but reached LTT on time at 11:05 am.
and on it's return journey left LTT on time and reached Sec'bad 10 minutes late.
Berths
------
Side berths are shorter in width as compared to the normal 6 berth bay
Train management system at Secunderabad is very poor as the train arrived on the platform just 5 mins
before scheduled departure of the train and I was told that coach shunting was in progress.
There was no announcement about the platform number on which the train would depart .
So much for a rajdhani type of train this Duronto is being talked about.
It was surprising as this is just a bi-weekly train and currently not under any Rake sharing arrangement.
On its return journey train again halted just outside Secunderabad station for more than 20 minutes
as a result finally the train was 10 minutes late on arrival.
This is a common phenomenon as trains crawl at 10 kms/hr outside station on both directions for technical reasons (sharp turns, Scissors crossing etc). But these can be sorted out like they did
at Mumbai CST station a decade back by remodeling the tracks
On it's return journey in sharp contrast at LTT station the empty rake arrived at the platform 45 minutes before the scheduled departure.
LTT station though dirty ,shabby and resembling a goods shed has better train management system
Speed
-----
I Was a bit disappointed with the train speed as it hardly averages 64 kms/hr.
This Would definitely qualify as one of the slowest Durontos
There is scope for further improvement as on date more than 250 kms are still on single track
on Daund-Gulbarga section on CR. The doubling work is still on for the last 30 years or so.
The average rate of doubling is just 10 kms a year.
Mumbai-Pune is fully electrified and doubled since long.
The track is doubled upto Bhigwan and again from Mohol to Hotgi.
In contrast The entire SCR section on this route is doubled and Electrification work
is in progress between Lingampally-Wadi.
Catering
--------
As the train departs late in the night no Dinner is served but they
provide a bottle of drinking water in the night itself
Tea is served at 7 am in the morning followed by breakfast at 9 am consisting of a couple
of slices of bread with a small packet of butter, jam, ketchup and a couple of veg cutlets.
Newspapers are given subject to availability.
Seat availability
-----------------
More than 250 berths are avaiable for 3AC and atleast 10 berths on 2AC and 6 berths
for 1AC on any given day on an average. This train has not picked up on popularity
as it is only 1 month ago that this train was introduced.
If they convert this into a non-AC duronto with 6-7 SL coaches and only 4 AC3T, 2 AC2T
and 1 composite first AC-CUM-Second AC coach
then this train will have 100% occupancy.
Technical halts and coach composition is just as described in Admin notes section

Ya there coaches are LHB and these are first coaches with jerk free technology in indian railways from chennai.
RAC may be with SC-VSKP duranto but only 1 days possible...but that train is triweekly. Any way its better not to have RAC.
I have 1 doubt....some where i heared these AC duranto needs 1 day maintenance is it correct ???

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
