There are returning rooms available, so far as I remember there are 7 of them, but there is a rush for them. We contacted the TTE room to book them subject to availability. We reached Anand Vihar Terminal at about 11:30 a.m. in the month of September, 2014 and got the rooms at 8 p.m. as none of the rooms were vacant at the time we got there. The tariff , so far as I remember was Rs. 400 or 450 for 12 hours. Staying at the retiring rooms was an enjoyable experience. The rooms are air-conditioned. We were to catch the next day's KGM Shatabdi. There are also hotels near Kausambi metro station, which is about 15 to 20 minutes' walk from Anand Vihar Terminal, but they are more expensive compared to the retiring rooms, but these hotel rooms were easily available at that time.
