[Edit]: The entry to the falls through the Railway Tracks have been strictly banned by the railways and hence this tip would not be applicable going forward. Kindly take a note of it.
This tip is exclusively for Boarding the 12779 Goa Express from Dudhsagar Station in the evening and is based on my recent visit to the falls.
1. Tickets: Please take return tickets from wherever you start your journey as DDS doesn't have a ticket counter. Its better if you have prior reservations done. If you don't have tickets and get...
more... into reserved bogies, the TTE's charge 50 Rs per passenger for going from DDS to Londa(I had noticed this)
2. Halt: The 12779 Goa Express halts at DDS for a minute. Hence try to make it quicker to the station, atleast 20 mins before the scheduled time. This period is enough for a group of 10 people to get in through one entrance.
3. Getting in: Many people would be waiting here to board this train as this is the last train towards Londa Jn which halts here and hence if the crowd near one compartment is more, try to board from the nearby compartments.
4. Reserved Accommodation: If you have a reserved accommodation, please note the coach position from IRI in advance. You may ask the Station Master about the position of your coach.
5. Security: Last year when we boarded from DDS, we didn't see any RPF officials at the station. This year though, some RPF personnel(6-8) were present at DDS station to ensure the safety of passengers boarding the Goa Express.
Final TIP: Please avoid visiting the falls on a weekend.
PICS: These pictures show the no of people boarding the Goa Express on a weekday(Tuesday) and hence you can predict what it would be like to board the train on a weekend. (Fortunately, everyone boarded the train safely with hussle and bussle but no one was left stranded)
