Platform no. 1 is rarely used ; mainly for loco traction change.
like- Malda Town - Surat Express reaches DGR at Pt no. 1 with Diesel link from Siuri and gets ASN WAM-4..... reverses and departs towards Asansol.
Same with the case for Chennai Central - New Tinsukia Express
