So the Devnagiri Spelling suggests that we pronounce this name as "Sarmatand" while speaking English or Hindi. The Britishers ended the spelling with "tanr" rather than "tand"... nice snap, any more from the journey? :-D

Short info my berth was A1 29 , the 2AC coach was very Old ,total 31 seats were vacant , DLI-ASN(my source and destini) it arrived DLI 20mins BT , But arrived my Destination 4hrs 30mins late , the peak speed recorded was 117km pH in MGS-Gaya sections , Food quality and quantity same as Poorva , almost better good quality food , Veg-120 and N.Veg-150 , side meals also available, major thing was that it skipped all major skipping stations like ALIGARH,ALLAHABAD,GAYA
