Had not so pleasant experience while travelling on 22692 SBC Rajdhani. Had a 2AC ticket from ATP to SBC. When the train arrived there was no staff to open the gate to receive me. Had to run across few bogies and managed to wake up the Pantry staff who took their sweet time to get up remove the crates from the entry/exit point and then by the they managed to open the door the train started along. Just managed to board while the train was in motion.
To my surprise I couldn't find my bedding and tracing both the attendant and the TTE proved futile. Had managed to lie down with used sheet. Around 6 am the attendant showed up & sheepishly

apologized. Then after repeated reminders he managed to get me the so-called free "water-bottle". Till the end I couldn't meet with the TTE, although I suspect why the attendant came and asked me to show my ticket post my confrontation with him.
The one serious safety concern that bothers me is that how can the pantry staff stack up all the crates over top of each other and block the exit. This would be of serious consequence in case of "EVAC" as the passengers would be struggling to get out. Also this particular LHB compartment was pitch dark that it was very difficult to even trace out the berths.
I had lodged a complaint with the Railways. Look forward to receiving a response. I thought of posting my experience on this site for the benefit of other rail-fans. If this can happen on a premier train like Rajdhani not sure how passengers other trains are treated especially if one needs to board the train in the middle of the night.

Very scary experience. I have missed a train because the passengers refused to open the doors. This happened at Rampurhat in West Bengal. After that I stopped visiting W.Bengal. I have boarded so many times at KPD SBC Mail and never had a problem as TTE was always waiting for me to board. Guess it depends on the area.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
