The ticket's current status is CNF/A2/8/NC for Train # 12474 Telangana Express (Boarding point: Bhopal Jn., and Reservation upto: Secunderabad Jn.) for scheduled departure @ 03:30 Hrs on 20th November. What is meant by 'NC' here? A few hours ago, the current status showed up as CNF/A2/8/UB; but this has since changed to CNF/A2/8/NC! This is some 4 hours before departure (# 12474 scheduled departure being @ 03:30 Hrs from Bhopal Jn.) on 20th November. Please advise. Thanks.

Thanks, Vinay. But, 'No Choice' in what sense or context?! For option/choice of berth? Does this mean a different berth had been allotted than what was requested (i.e., Lower Berth having been requested) at the time of booking? Even then, why did the status change from CNF/A2/8/UB to CNF/A2/8/NC (the berth number remains the same, i.e., berth #8. So, why change/replace the 'UB' with the 'NC'? In that case, it could have been mentioned earlier itself as CNF/A2/8/UB/NC. Why change it now?

One explanation I found online - "When railway ticket is booked you must have noticed your booking status as CNF/D1/100/NC. CNF means confirmed and NC means ‘No Choice’. In case you have selected seat preference like window seat etc. and that seat is not available then it is indicated as NC in ticket and another available seat is allotted." click here

Frankly, neither seems very logical since if berth number is given, you already know whether your choice was given or not. And similarly what is the point of mentioning No Concession, I dont understand.
