Can someone help me to understand this?
I was booking AC tickets for 10th Apr 2016 in advance from YPR to HWH through irctc. I have one senior citizen and one 3 year old kid along with me who are in the list of passengers. I tried AC3 with the option "book only if at least two lower berth is guaranteed", unfortunately it returned with "choice could not be met" and asked to proceed with yes or no. I clicked on yes as I got to have book the tickets anyway and I thought if not two at least one LB will be given. Unfortunately it returned with all CNF tickets with UB, MB and SU (the worst). Now this was very

difficult for me to accept as I badly needed at least one LB. Hence I tried again with choice "book only if at least one lower berth is guaranteed", to my surprise again it returned "choice could not be met" and this time I proceeded with "NO", hence transaction failed but money got deducted. Having no idea on whats wrong - I tried the same this time again for AC2 tier. The same result and money got deducted. I did not give up and again tried this time on AC3 for 8th April. The result same - I did not proceed but money got deducted. Now I have given up and I need a solution. Can someone please help me? In all the above cases the total availability for the respective class was more than 35 when I tried to book. Then why it could not allote me at least one lower berth? Is there any specific restriction or I was following any incorrect booking procedure?

PRS availibility is the same as what is displayed on IRCTC, and don't think visiting PRS counter can solve this. From what I can see is that there are 2 berths available in 2A and 44 in 3A and 0 in either class LB Quota. In short, 3 berths together are not available and thus the problem.
This is a common problem experienced by group/family travellers and the amount of money wasted in booking/cancellation when seats are not obtained as per one's choice. IR could consider not to allocate coach/seat number, just like 1A/FC during booking, but allocate them at final charting thus solving this huge problem.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
