ISO certifications are actually a bunch of guidelines rather they are a bunch of standards designated for a particular purpose, which is provide an assurance to the customer/ organization that the product they are using meet the regulatory required standards for that product. At the same time they also keep the manufacturer in check and prevent them from using unscrupulous means.
Getting an ISO certification is a difficult and a very coveted task. There are several organisations which individually check your product independently and individually certify that your product meets the ISO standard, it is only then that you get a ISO certification.

such an ISO certified product/service usually means that the product is of a pristine quality and will usually give you a good service.
Therefore they become a strong USP for the body.
Shaan-E-Bhopal was the 1st train in IR to be accorded with ISO certification and she is the undoubtably pride of Bhopal.
Easily amongst the cleanest if not the cleanest already :P.
Now to get a ISO certification you have to pay an exorbitant fee first :P.
Then the officials arrive to check your train.
If satisfied you are awarded with the certification if not then 'better luck next time' :xD
Some of the points that they check are:-
1. Maintainance :- They check the maintaining procedure, the sincerity and dedication that goes into the maintaining of the train. The TAT of the train is also checked. It is probably compared with the ideal TAT that would be required for the distance that the trains travels.
2. Cleanliness :- The train's cleanliness is throughly checked. It is probably the most important factor that decides whether the train gets the certification or not! The toilets are under through scrutiny the coaches are also analaysed....
3. Train Staff :- Checking whether the staff is dedicated, sincere and hardworking.
It is only after a through all around inspection that the train gets a ISO Certificate.

These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
