AGARTALA, March 29 (TIWN): Uncertainty looms large over the commencement of the BG passenger train service from Tripura as Railway safety commissioner who is here to conducts CRS inspection into the newly converted BG track has expressed displeasure into the status of the work into several sphere of the BG conversion work to the railway platform to signal system to the construction of the footbridge at Agartala railway station. It is to be mentioned here that when the CRS inspection is underway at Agartala railway station, sudden splash of rain on Monday morning led to the collapse of 800 meter platform boundary wall at Dharmanagar railway station. Promises of commencing the BG passengers train service by April 15 turns bleak as several corruptions and mismanagement in work is alleged in to the construction of the railway platform and station at different part of the state. mentioned that just a few days back before the beginning of the CRS inspection, a newly constructed rail-shed at the Agartala railway station collapsed suddenly where at least four laborers were brutally injured. It was only because of the use of low graded materials into the construction.
When the entire Tripura is hoping to board BG passenger train from Tripura, several faults in the preliminary CRS inspection report has created panic among the common people.
In a visit to the state on Sunday last Railway safety commissioner Sailesh kumnar Pathak took a detailed note of the BG conversion site and dig out several faults in the process of construction.
It is to be mentioned here that during the preliminary investigation, Railway safety commissioner sailesh kumnar Pathak expressed displeasure over the construction work of the foot bridge at Agartala railway station. However, he also noted faults in the signaling system at the Agartala railway station.
As per the plan, the Railway Safety Commissioner reached here in Agartala with his team and started the inspection for the safety run of the train under his direct supervision.
The safety inspection is the last step in facilitating commissioning of the route, which connects Tripura with other parts of the country. Though the gauge conversion works were completed month ago, the safety inspection was delayed, raising concern among train commuters.
According to Railway sources, the mandatory final safety inspection would be conducted by experts for at least 6 days. Railways can run services on the route only after the safety inspection and certification by the CRS.
However, the latest trends in the CRS inspection shows it will become tough to begin the BG passenger railway service in Tripura by April 15.
It is to be mentioned here that the team led by Railway safety commissioner sailesh kumnar Pathak is scheduled to inspect new railways at several spot with a view to determine whether they are fit to be opened for the public carriage of passengers or not but the preliminary report of the CRS shows that Tripura will have to wait long for boarding BG passenger train in the state.
