Hi,
Can any one describe lower bearth Quota; Who can get it?
Thanks
Some people - elderly, young children, mothers with young children, etc. prefer lower berth. In the general case, you may still get lower berth, but it is left to chance. But if you book early, you may give a preference for lower berth - and if a seat is available from this quota, you will be given. I don't think there is any eligibility.
Most adults, including me, prefer the upper berth. Peace and quiet - no one will disturb you. Especially, for very long distance journeys, where you have to spend at least one whole day + night in the train, upper berth is heaven if you have a book or magazine to read. In the lower berth, people will keep...
more... disturbing you.
lower birth quota is alloted by the system directly to senior citizen and women above the age of 45 when travelling alone.
Thank for your kind information.
