A. Manju, Minister for Sericulture and Animal Husbandry, has suggested measures to improve connectivity to the new KSRTC bus stand, located on the outskirts of the city. He has asked the officials concerned to improve the road that connects the bus stand to B.M. Road via NDRK school road.
Mr. Manju, who is also the district in-charge, visited the bus stand on Tuesday. He observed that vehicles were getting stuck in traffic during the morning hours on the road that connects N.R. Circle to the bus stand. Whenever the railway gate is closed, the vehicles are left stranded.
Minister suggested improving alternative roads. “If the existing road (from B.M. Road to the bus stand) is strengthened, congestion on Holenarsipur Road can be bypassed,” he said.
For years citizens have been demanding a railway overbridge on Holenarsipur Road. Mr. Manju said he had recently met Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and discussed the matter with him. “He responded positively and the work will start in two months,” he said.
Later, the Minister visited the bus stand and interacted with commuters.
Parking issues
He spoke to shopkeepers and inspected the facilities at the stand. The public brought to his attention vehicle parking issues at the stand.
Earlier, KSRTC had earmarked a small area for free parking, pickup and drop. However, the service was withdrawn recently. The Minister directed KSRTC officials to reintroduce the service and also asked them to make wheelchairs available for the elderly.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
