There is. Nothing wronf in govt policy if they want pass to prefer flightsrather than trains for 1500+ km long journey..IR & govt knows it's limitations that 55 kmph is the cap of trains & moat trains are even not able to achieve the same. Its not possible to enhance speed overnight.. IR should serve metropolitan & short distance commuters rather than long distant ones for which flights are there go cater to the need.. Also if a goods train with 15 kmph avg speed giving them better revenue than a Mail/Exl with 55 kmph why not concentrate to increase the speed of goods.. In long 🏃 it'll make the turnaround of goods rake faster & procurement of rakes will be easier..

you are right...IR long distance trains are heavily loss making hence in future IR will run trains for maximum 10-12 hour journey only... long distance trains will become very less or almost extinct because it will become impossible to run them due to huge losses..
