Had applied formula number 1
Drove my bike to Cuttack station got it verified/packed/documented on my reserved ticket on Purushotam Exp till Tatanagar....
got it loaded paying a few bucks to coolie [to load/place safely with less damage]
else i have seen these buggers throw it into the van breaking headlight/mirror [with expression on their face saying "who cares!!"]

Yes sir, always it will be better to travel on the same train.
when i took my RX 100 to KYJ for Fitness certificate, i had to repaint the petrol tank when it reached at KYJ which was done one week before here at CBE.
After that i will travel on the same train only with my tckt attached with parcel bokking
