Thenmala: The Railways’ Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) will review the ongoing gauge conversion works along the Punalur-Sengottai route on Friday. The CAO is likely to announce the schedule for the trial run along the Punalur -Edamon and Aryankavu-Shenkottail line after holding meeting with senior officials and project contractors. The works on this sections have been completed. He will also examine the progress of works of the new tunnel at Thenmala. This is the second-longest (200 meters) tunnel in the state after Aryankavu tunnel (1 km).   The CAO is also likely to discuss the
dates for starting regular train services along the route. As per the earlier schedule, it was decided to take a trial run in December and start services on March 31, 2017.

Its simply that CR treats GR in a step motherly manner.
Many members here have commented and posted news about the treatment of GR by SUR division. I will list a few:
1. The pitline was meant for SUR-YPR train to be terminated at GR itself, but as previous RM didn't return to power, GR got shafted.
At night it was meant to maintain GR-HYB ICE, but there too it got introduced recently. That too highly unpopular time. Instead of 6AM, its 10:15AM for no reason at all.
3. So many projects and plans of GR held up. GR is the golden duck for SUR division but gets a raw deal. Horrible politics.
4. Decrease in quota of seats on many trains from GR to SBC, all shifted to SUR.
Its the same case of VSKP caught in the bind of ECoR. And we are just like Andhra railfans who just express our anger here.

The main reason is to start a train from Gulbarga to Bellary it needs three zones approval CR(which they wont give), SCR( not much interested), SWR( which do not care) and needs strong political back up to make it happen and if we leave it to only Railway board of zones these will never happen

sahi bole janab agar if gulbarga is transferred to SWR it will be heights of nightmare for sure.. currently its struck between devil and deep sea... only hope is SCR for entire Hyderabad Karnataka region under one zone that is SCR

These transfer to other zones never will happen simply because of profitability to the current zones. Mangaluru in the hold of SR, GR by CR. Look at the pressure, agitation and struggle to free VSKP from ECoR, nothing has happened.

Agar GR division bana to SWR ko bilkul transfer nahin karna chahiye nahin to GR ko division status hi mat do.
