BHOPAL: Divisional railway manager (DRM), Bhopal Alok Kumar has written a letter to DRM Jhansi, to take action against loco pilot D C Sharma for the Sridham express fiasco at Habibganj railway station early on Tuesday.
The train skipped the halt at Habibganj after it was given a through signal by mistake and was later forced to stop after it passed the platform.

Operating the REAL express train on New Route is a very tense moment for a New LP who have earlier driven only Goods or Passenger train.
You may learn everything in prior by testing and acclimatizing runs and by reading the manuals, but the real thing happens only on the real run.

Even the "MOST Experienced & Knowledgeable" Operators who undertook the fastest Train Gatimaan express for its 1st ride NZM-AGC, they were also feeling nervous and tensed before the ride.

No new LP gets charge of ME train.
Only senior grade LP ALP gets them.
All LP have good learning and enough running hours experience before promotion to A grade Special status. LP who runs Rajdhani, Shatabdi etc are very experienced with almost no accident record holders.
However mistakes do happen.

I think you are confused between what a LP does and what an ALP does.
I am talking about new LP...not a new ALP.
Before becoming a full fledged LP, they are made to work as an ALP.
So you won't be directly jumping off to LP seat. 1st you gonna be ALP.

Please go through your posts.
No new LP ALP gets train like Gatiman as you gave example.
And every time is first time no matter how experienced you are.
LP needs enough running hours, clean track record before promotion.

Mistakes are considered.
But Mistakes should only considered if you are Non-experienced. If you are driving a Express train daily for a single section , and still you are committing mistake, then you deserve stringent punishment. But if you are operating for 1st time as a LP (Fresh promotion from ALP post or upgraded from Passenger pilot to Express pilot) or operating for 1st time in a section, then i feel a harsh warning is enough.
