Nizamabad: Noted psychiatrist and Anti-Corruption Forum convener Dr Keshavulu lashed out at the top officials of the Railway Ministry for their indifference and negligence towards completing the railway line works between Peddapalli-Nizamabad junctions though they started the works 30 years ago.
Participating in a round-table conference on the conditions of the railway lines in the town on Monday, Dr Keshavulu lamented that no other railway line in the country was neglected like this. Morethan 30,000 passengers travel by train in Nizamabad on a daily basis, he added.
Dr Keshavaulu said that though
the Nizamabad Railway Station was constructed in the year 1905 and upgraded to the Grade-I level, the facilities and amenities were not up to the mark. He said that it was not clear when the Peddapalli-Nizamabad Railway line would be completed though they should have been completed by March this year.
All the other railway lines which were started afterwards were already completed while this was lagging behind, he lamented. He said that if the railway line was completed, Nizamabad could establish a direct link with New Delhi and would also save lot of time.
Coming down heavily on the top Railway Ministry officials for keeping the Secunderabad-Nizamabad-Nanded-Manmad railway line in a state of neglect even after 30 years, he said that it was unfortunate that they did not take up even the electrification works.
He said that Nizamabad has links with several States and several commercial goods trains pass through, doubling works were also not started. Similarly, even the Armoor-Nirmal-Ichhooda-Adilabad railway line works were also not finished yet and the status was still not known, he added.
Dr Keshavaulu said that thousands of devotees of Lord Ayyappa travel to Sabarimalai from Nizamabad but they do not have railway facility from here but the number of link trains has not been increased, he lamented.
Speaking on the occasion, district CPI (M) leader Taherbin said that they should lauch an agitation if the works remain incomplete even by March 2017. He said that it was unfortunate that Nizamabad district was highly neglected in the laying new railway tracks and even budgetary allocations in the Railway budget were not done properly.
Merging of the railway budget in the General Budget was against the ideals of of Dr B R Ambedkar and it was unfortunate, he lamented. TRS Politburo member Poshetty assured that Chief Minister K chandrashekar rao would take up the issue of constructing the railway line in Nizamabad with Prime Minter Modi and other national BJP leaders and get it completed.
BJP leader Gangareddy said that the NDA government already sanctioned Rs 240 crore for completing the railway line and wojudl definitely take steps to complete it. A large number of intellectuals, trade union leaders, leaers of political parties and others were present at the round table conference.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
