सीकर से जयपुर के बीच मीटरगेज का आज अंतिम सफर है। अब इस ट्रैक पर कभी मीटरगेज की टे्रनों के इंजन की सीटी सुनाई नहीं देगी। राजधानी जयपुर से लेकर सीकर तक कई गांव-ढाणियां और स्टेशन 94 साल तक इस सुनहरे सफर के साक्षी रहे हैं।
मीटरगेज की विदाई और आमान परिवर्तन के आगाज के मौके पर राजस्थान पत्रिका डॉट कॉम ने इस ट्रेक के इतिहास को खंगाला तो कई ऐसे रोचक तथ्य सामने आए, जिनमें खुशियां भी हैं तो गुस्सा भी। आगे की स्लाइड्स में पढ़ें 11 रोचक तथ्य। (सभी तथ्य-इतिहासकार महावीर पुरोहित के अनुसार )

-14 नवम्बर को रात 8 बजकर 5 मिनट पर मीटरगेज का सीकर-जयपुर का अंतिम सफर है।
-मीटरगेज में अंतिम सफर करने वाले यात्रियों का सोमवार को उत्साह देखते बना।
-सोमवार दोपहर जयपुर से सीकर पहुंची ट्रेन में सीनियर डीओएम गौरव गौड़ भी पहुंचे।
-सीकर- जयपुर ट्रेन बंद होने से 10 हजार यात्रियों को कुछ समय के लिए परेशानी होगी।
- ट्रेन बंद होने से उन्हें अब रोडवेज या अन्य निजी वाहनों का सहारा लेना पड़ेगा।
-इस रूट के यात्रियों पर रोजाना साढ़े सात लाख रुपए का भार बढ़ जाएगा।

ब्रॉडगेज के प्रोजेक्ट पर एक नजर
-सीकर रेलवे की जयपुर- रींगस-सीकर- लोहारु व सीकर- चूरू आमान परिवर्तन योजना के तहत ब्रॉडगेज से जुड़ रहा है।
-320 .4 किलोमीटर रेल लाइन की योजना की अनुमानित लागत 658 करोड़ है। जिसके तहत सीकर- लोहारु मार्ग पर एक सितंबर 2015 से रेल का संचालन शुरू हो चुका है।
-सीकर से चूरु का प्रोजेक्ट मार्च 2017, रींगस-सीकर प्रोजेक्ट मार्च 2018 तथा जयपुर रींगस- प्रोजेक्ट मार्च 2019 में पूरा करने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।
-सीकर- चूरू मार्ग पर फतेहपुर में वन विभाग की जमीन के विवाद के चलते कुछ हिस्से का काम अटका हुआ है। वहीं, सीकर से जयपुर ट्रेन बंद होने के बाद अब इस ट्रेक पर लाइन बदलने का काम शुरू होगा।

Today many gauge converted routes are getting doubled and electrified and on way to become trunk lines notably DLI-JP/JU/ADI, MS-MDU,
SBC-UBL sections. These 3 sections were like MG trunk routes (in addition to others) and were main stay of the rail traffic of region due to nonavailability of alternate/ parallel BG routes.
Fortunes of NWR have changed with GC, and similar is the case of SR/SWR. Freight traffic on many converted routes esp.the port connectivity routes of Gujrat has tremendously shot up bringing in much needed revenue to IR.

Thanks friend for rightly point out the fact. a stretch of Akola-Khandwa and very small part of NG lines around NGP are in Maha, but major portion lies in MP.are to be converted and they are of much significance for MP, but they are one of the last ones to be taken up for conversion. They are so far away from the area of RM, so appeared insignificant .
