WDP4 (4000 HP, Bo1-1Bo config, 160 km/h)
These locos are the original passenger locos made by GM. Single cab - narrower, non-piglet type although some piglet type (wider cabs) also exist. There is no yellow or orange stripe in the middle. Most of these locos are in 20xxx series.

locos are modified versions of WDG4 with increased HP output. Single cab - wider, piglet type (wider cabs); first three prototypes in 20xxx series have cabs similar to that of an original WDP4. Most of them are in 40xxx series. Single yellow or orange stripe is present on the body sides.

No difference outright, but there is a small difference in most of the locomotives. In WDP4B and WDG4 locomotives, the diesel tank under the locomotive is towards the long hood of the locomotive. For WDP4 locos, the diesel tank is placed on the short hood side. This is clearly visible from the the outside.
There are few exceptions too to this. WDP4B Prateek has it's diesel tank placed in a similar location to WDP4 locos. So, this difference may not be present all the time, but is present in many cases.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
