Hindi is evolving, The Hindi of today is not what was 50 years back or so.
Being a new language it adopted words from all local dialects and Persian Arabic then English too.
Yes Sanskrit contributed most but with the course of time Hindi accepted words from many languages.
Problem started when some Govt officials started creating some unnatural and very rough heavy words
mostly based on Sanskrit and imagination.
They invented some official words to replace even more commonly used words. They did more harm than good to Hindi. I think they were more influenced by English thought where use of big uncommon word make you language scholar.

ya HINDI is more liberal to most parts of india. As many languages can be related to it with most langauges of Indian states.
Most the words taken unlike dravidan where Telugu , Malayalam is equally taken sanskrit and dravidan words. But only unique langauge we have is Telanagana which is not dominated by sanskrit but Urdu/Hindi and dravida.
What ever we are becoming global village, lets see how this langauge issue will be tackled in coming decades.
india is never a single country like this for past 1000 years until 1952-55 , where we made its a single country. But we are still struggling respect each other , instead trying to dominate.

We were never a country if we take the European thought of borders.
Only Britisher demarcated what we call India border today.
And in our couture we ruled each other but never dominated they way some say.
And we all know change is law of nature. Languages comes and changes. The one who resist to change evolve become obsolete.
is surviving because she is open. You know most of Hindi speakers use different language (Dialect/Boli/Bhasha) at home.
But no country survives with 10s of officials languages no matter how they respect each other, There is only One or Two official to communicate and work.
