Coming December 18 onwards the passengers travelling to New Delhi on the prestigious Prayagraj Express would get the comfort of Rajdhani express, with no extra cost. At a time when the recent train accident at Pukhrayan, about 100 kilometers from Kanpur is fresh in memories, the new 'avatar' of this most popular and VIP train between Allahabad and New Delhi would be fitted with the latest LHB (Linke Halffman Busch) coaches which would not overlap above each in case of accidents. These coaches are having the feature of anti-climbing system.
The longer, safer, and comfortable coaches of the new version of Prayagraj Express are made of stainless steel. Moreover, the interiors would not be fitted with metallic fitting. The new interiors would

be made of fiber. The Prayagraj Express will be far more effective as the train would have two power car which would run the AC's of the air-conditioned coaches.
The train would be having 22 coaches unlike the existing version which has 24 coaches. The seating capacity of the coaches would also be enhanced as new coaches of sleeper class would have 80 berths, an addition of 8 berth in each coaches, AC-III will also have 8 additional berth (72 from existing 64), AC-II will have 52 berth and AC-I will have 24 berths.
The coaches have been manufactured in the Rail Coach Factory at Rai Bareilly and because of the lighter weight, they can run at a higher speed of upto 160 km/hr whereas it's existing speed is 110 km/hr. Along with the high speed, the new coaches will have more effective braking system; the coaches will have disk brakes as well.
Even on the high speed, the passengers would feel less jerk, both while stopping or starting and also while travelling. The authorities have started the process for increasing the speed of the train upto 130 km/hr and the same could see the day of the light in the coming days. The authorities have suggested that the passengers of sleeper coaches, travelling on or after December 18, should check the status of their reservation before starting their journey. As the old coaches had 72 berths and there were 12 sleeper coaches, the total carrying capacity was 864 whereas now as it has 10 coaches (each having 80 berths) the total carrying capacity has come down to 800, a reduction of 64 seats, said railway PRO of Allahabad division, Sunil Kumar Gupta.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
