DFC me alag parellel double track bichhaya jaega .jisme sirf Freight trains pass hongi .
Small stations par inme koi bhi connectig point nahi hoga. Only major stations par hi ye interconnected rahengi.
Jin villages stations ke pas track ke jagah nahi waha inhi tracks ko bypass ke jaisa nikala ja rha taki jyada destruction na ho. Overbridge and underpass itne banaye jayenge taki fatal nahi banana pade.

Yes, I remember. The then RM Mr. Lalu had announced about the DFC concept in the 2006 IR Budget. It was supposed to be ready for freight train operations by 2008. But this flagship project of IR went into cost overruns due to immense delays as work went on a snail's place. Just around 1+ Kms of track work was completed between Dehri-On-Sone and Durgauti (Durgawati). Let's see when the constructed tracks between Dehri-On-Sone and Kanpur get operational. Successful trials of a WAG-9 hauled freight train have taken place some months back between Dehri and Sasaram I suppose (DFC FB Page also has its pic)... :)

You are right. There are some things that I've gone through on IRI through members' blog posts, news items, etc. regarding EDFC as follows:-

1) IR is trying to work on straightening of platforms at stations like Mirzapur along with the tracks (both loop and escape lines) to remove PSR. Track renewal work at GMO was also heard about to finish PSR of 30 Kmph & upgrade trains' MPS to 130 Kmph (For AC) and 110 Kmph (For Non-AC).

2) IR wants to make the entire Howrah - Gaya - Mirzapur - Kanpur - Delhi Route 100% free of manned/unmanned level crossing gates and work seems to have been started in the 1st phase between Mughalsarai and Ghaziabad through ROB/FOB constructions to remove TSR. FOB construction work at GMO is also pending to finish PSR of 30 Kmph & upgrade trains' MPS to 130 Kmph (For AC) and 110 Kmph (For Non-AC).

3) IR plans to replace Manual Signalling with Automatic Block Signalling System (ABSS) between Allahabad and Kanpur for better train movement.

4) All the above points are meant to synchronize present HWH-GAYA-MZP-NDLS Old Tracks with parallel EDFC Modern tracks between Dankuni Jn and Khurja Jn. Abhishek Jaiswal Sir on IRI told me that signalling work on ALD-CNB stretch is left while its tracks won't be shared with platforms of stations like Hathras Jn, Tundla Jn, Aligarh Jn, Khurja Jn, etc. en route. So freight and passenger trains may use EDFC tracks if they have a Non-Stop MGS-ALD or ALD-CNB Run :)

* DFC is a very old concept world wide, many DFCs were operational in many countries. Due to the industrial boom, IR was getting bumper incremental loading, IR decided to go for construction of DFCs in 2006 to meet the future loadings.
* Minimum of 4-5 yrs are required for construction of a corridor, announcing DFC in 2006 and planning to operate trains in 2 yrs is impractical. Practically the announcement mostly remained on papers and actual work was very slow.
