Date of Journey:- 3 May 2017
The Deccan Queen...!! What a lovely train to travel after a span of 6-7 Years (Yup, due to age restrictions). Was so excited to travel through this train I literally didn't sleep for the night before journey. Continuously thinking about how the journey would be, what should I be doing n all (yeah I'm kind of stupid)
Somehow time passed and I got ready. We decided to board KYN CST Slow Local from Dombivili/DI scheduled to leave DI 14:50. Clocked ticked 14:20, bid adieu to my

mom and left home. Caught a rickshaw and went to Dombivili station were one of my friend joined me. Another was boarding the same local from Kalyan. In the Meantime, Mangala Express skipped with a offlink 11187/ED SHF. Jalna JS also skipped with KYN Shakti. Then at 14:55 local arrived 5 mins delayed and hopefully, I got the window seat, Rake No 2178-7x in 2180A, for one last time....
Had few numerous crossings on the way but I slept (Bit lazy guy), and finally arrived CST 16:15, 55 Mins before the Departure time of 12123. We went to PF No.9 where DQ is scheduled to arrive, in the mean time I informed my mom n dad that I reached CST, and my friend brought some Snacks to eat. We reached our coach (D5) and my friend's father was waiting for him to bid adieu. He bought us 3 bottles of Mirinda, 1 for each (I controlled my self and drank just half the bottle). 16:35 and Nandigram departed behind WCAM 3 and my friend's father boarded that train to KYN (Railway Man).
Its 16:45 and no news of the rake, PF was packed as if a EMU was coming. At 16:51, 36140/CLA came with the rake of DQ and everyone was excited and were ready to board DQ. 16:55 Rake came to halt and UNFORTUNATELY, doors of D5 were locked from inside. All 3 doors on PF side were locked and suddenly a guy (A good guy because he went to GS and GS was packed), came through the pass through and opened the door and we boarded the train. I rushed to Seat No.69 kept my bags below the seat and took a breathe of relief. We then went to front to find the loco and it was 21937/WCAM 3 as usual. Clicked one picture of TB and me and went back to D5. One of my friend (Seat No.72) was on window seat but luck was not in his favour. Few family members where sitting right in front of him and remaining members were sitting at Seat No. 64/65/66(Window Seat). I quickly ran to 66 and my poor friend was sitting at seat no.64 (Damn unlucky).
As the clock ticked 17:10, we depart with soft horn of WCAM 3. Again called my parents and informed them and they wished me happy journey. Skipped Byculla/BY still crawling, but as soon as we left BY we were at MPS. Skipped DR at MPS and with continuous honk. 17:41 TNA crossed and no slowing down till now. Parsik entry and exit was at MPS but then braked hard to 30/40KMPH (All thanks Diva LC) and then immediately reached MPS. At 17:50, crossed my Home Station:- Kopar and at 17:51 crossed DI and again braked hard (All thanks to THK LC) and again reached MPS. At Patripul skipped at around 20/30 KMPH and at same speed skipped KYN at 17:58 and diverted to SE-South East line. After that no slowing down. Xing with PA JP hauled by 30078/BRC at Vithalwadi and after that it was MPS show. Skipped every station till KJT at MPS, slow down was only due to TSRs n all but clearance given to this train was superb. TTE was very gentle and asked me "Ticket dikhaye sir"(Show me the ticket sir). Was very impressed by this attitude of TTE.
Arrived Karjat at 1842, Delayed by 9Mins. Bankers just arrived at the spot and where moving towards to rear after dropping few railway staff. 27209+27138+27375 all KYN WAG 7 bankers attached to my DQ. Left karjat after a brief halt of 13Mins (18:55). Skipped PDI shortly and then started the journey to heaven, a place were everyone has visited or might be planning to visit:- The Mighty Bhor Ghats.... Tried taking some pics but wind was quiet strong hence took a long, uncut video of 25 Mins. The place was so quiet, so cool, so silent and also so beautiful that I was thinking of buying a home sweet home here. Way away from noisy, polluted suburban area, no one to tease and only trains to see. It was quiet dark by 19:30 so I stopped the video and started enjoying the cool breeze. Crossed few trains at Monkey Hill and Jamburg and pair of light engine at Khandala.
At last, reached LNL 19:33 where bankers were detached in just 2 Mins and we departed LNL 19:35. Some passengers got onboard in GS. Post Lonavala, the aggression shown by the LP and WCAM 3 was just unforgettable. There was no slowing down and the tracks were as straight as an arrow. Curves were of smallest possible radius and we were continuously doing around 90KMPH. Malavli to Vadgaon skips were at MPS. Firecrackers were bursting somewhere between Vadgaon and Talegaon which made the evening more beautiful. At talegaon we took a halt of 2Mins were huge amount of Pax got onboard. We crossed Talegaon Starter and then again came to halt and this time it was a massive halt of 14Mins. By that time we went to Dining Car of the DQ and OHHH MAAAAII GAWD!!! I've heard about the Dining Car but seeing it personally for the first time was priceless. Not only the Dining Car was amazing, food served by it was also amazing. I just ordered a Veg Sandwich worth Rs.25/- and my friend ordered Cheese Sandwich worth Rs.37/- and it was very tasty (I'm talking about veg Sandwich, cheese sandwich as per my friend was also brilliant). Ordered a Cup of tea worth maybe 6 or 7 (Unable to remember whether I gave him a 1 rupee coin or 2 rupee and didn't even bothered all hail the pax demanding for tea).
Finally departed Talegaon at 20:16 and we were already late, by this time we should have crossed Shivaji Nagar. Checked the arrivals at PA and saw 01322 TEN PA which as per NTES will be reaching PA before us. Previously it was looped at Khadki and then later looped at Shivaji Nagar (LOL Controlling). Then skipped all stations till Pimpri at MPS, at Dehu Road crossed Ahimsa Express hauled by WAP 4.
And there we go, reached Shivaji Nagar at 20:37, Delayed by 29Mins and saw TEN PA looped for us. Took 1.5Mins halt at SVJR. Looked through the window and found 2 children staring at my train and a great disappointment stroke them when our train was given precedence over theirs (Slow Claps). TEN PA was hauled by 11379/PA SHF. Arrived at PA outers at around 20:48 and crossed late running 11014 CBE LTT hauled by KJM WDP 4D 40401. Finally given signal at 20:52 and arrived at Pune Junction PF No.2. at 20:57
It was a amazing journey in this SF, the food, the pax, the TTE and everything about this train is awesome. Everyone is suggested to take this train for Mumbai Pune Sector :)

These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
