I have personally transfered my confirmed 2A ticket to my brother. when i could not travel from mumbai to chennai in 2009. The procedure for transfer of ticket is simple. The only catch is the ticket can be transfered only with in family. (father, mother, wife, son, brother etc. ) All it took for me was to copy of the ticket, copy of both the passenger ID proof and Ration card for proof of being brother). one must take all the documents along with orginals to the chief ticketing officer of the station. The person checks all the documents and then changes the name in the ticketing system. In return the documents are stamped and signed by the officer with change of passenger mentioned on the ticket. No new tickets are issued. The same old ticket along with the stamp and signature of the officer along with the name change remarks are...

The rail tickets can be transferred to blood relations except husband and wife. If a person is holding a confirmed ticket and is unable to travel, then the ticket can be transferred to his/her family members including father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband or wife. For transfer of ticket, an application must be submitted atleast 24 hours in advance of the scheduled departure of the train.
In addition to this, tickets can also be transferred to another government servant travelling on duty, atleast 24 hours in advance of the scheduled departure of the train.

can also be transferred to other students of recognized educational institutions when the principal or head makes a request atleast 48 hours in advance of the scheduled departure of the train.
Railway tickets can also be transferred to other members of the marriage party, if the head of such a party makes a request atleast 48 hours in advance of the scheduled departure of the train. It can be transferred to other cadets of NCC, if the head of the group makes a request atleast 24 hours in advance of the scheduled departure of the train. Such changes can be made only once - if the request does not exceed 10 per cent of the total number of group members.
The person who wants to transfer the ticket must approach the station manager/chief reservation supervisor and submit the application for the said purpose. He must also submit the photostat copy of the proof of his relationship with the person to whom the ticket would be transferred like ration card, voter I-Card, bank pass book etc. Further, proof of age is also required to be submitted with the application.
The station manager would then give the permission and changes made according to the application.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
