Central Railway begins work to accommodate 24 coach trains at CST
MUMBAI: More long distance trains with 24 coaches will be able to ply from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) as Central Railway has begun work on platform extension work and setting up of Route Relay Interlocking (RRI).
CR spokesperson said, "On Monday, general manager DK Sharma laid the foundation stone for RRI. The work sanctioned with estimated cost of Rs. 60.47 crores, including extension of platform No. 10, 11, 12 and 13 with Cover Over Platform, yard remodelling, etc."

Hope HYB Express,Hussain Sagar & Chennai Exp/Mail get benefited from this....
Only 4 platforms 15, 16, 17, 18 is handling 24 coaches mostly it is used for NE lines trains. Now 10, 11, 12, 13 platforms extension handling 24 coaches for SE lines and some more trains.
They may benefit but what abt intermediate stations.
