Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST) and the Sai Nagar Shirdi are among 15 stations on the central railway that have enabled 100 per cent cashless digital transactions. Besides CST, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Thane are the stations to go cashless in the Mumbai Division.
Pune, Miraj and Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus(Kolhapur) are the cashless stations in Pune division, Solapur, Kopergaon and Sainagar Shirdi in Solapur division; Bhusaval, Amravati and Nasik Road in Bhusaval division; and Nagpur, Ballarshah and Wardha in Nagpur division.
From buying tickets to paying at the catering stalls, the
stations have facility for payments through credit cards or mobile wallets. A central railway spokesperson said point of sale machines had been provided at counters for reserved and unreserved tickets, luggage, parcel, goods sheds and to caterers. Private contractors had been asked to provide Paytm or other such facilities.
Shirdi, which draws huge crowds of pilgrims bound for the Sai Baba shrine, was the first to go cashless on central railway, which plans to extend the facility to all stations under it. In fact, said Sunil Udasi, chief spokesperson of the railway, even the pay-and-use washrooms would soon go cashless.

However, "eligibility" does NOT always mean...

We shall soon be introducing a dedicated app called "Rail Messenger" for both Android and iOS, for all blogging/messaging purposes. The app...

@all: While we do nominally allow multiple IDs, these multiple IDs are NOT allowed to engage in misuse and "mischief". Voting multiple times in the same poll using multiple IDs, rating each other IDs' blogs using multiple IDs, etc. are classified as "gross misuse". . This is an advance notice that some of the...

@all: IRI is a PUBLIC information website, like Wikipedia. The voluntarily posted Blogs, Train/Station Tips, Train/Station Pics, Polls, Train TTs, PNRs, etc. comprise the permanent publicly viewable and searchable repository of IRI. A PUBLIC info website is unlike WhatsApp, FaceBook, Instagram, etc. where people post personal pics and other stuff, which CAN...

This is a clarification to all members regarding our Forum Guidelines and the FM Group. SWs are issued for very clear cases of abuse and misbehaviour by a member. . At this time, we have had many members against whom SW is issued claim that: "I am a long-time member of IRI, and have...
