The Railways had earlier announced that the train would run with conventional coaches.
But after it was realised that a 40-hour journey on a train with conventional coaches is tiring for passengers, they decided to opt for LHB coaches.

Official sources informed that a special LHB coach is being brought from Lucknow to Indore for this train. "The rake is being tested at Mumbai and is expected to come to Indore on Tuesday," they said. They added that introducing LHB coaches might change the proposed coach composition for this train.
The train was scheduled to run with 22 conventional coaches including 2 SLR guard, 4 general category, 13 sleeper class, one AC-2 and two AC-3 class category coaches. Officials refrained from revealing the coach composition of the train but sources revealed that the the train with the new LHB coaches may have only 17 coaches. "The coach composition may change after LHB rakes are introduced," said a spokesman with Ratlam division of the Western Railways.
Officials said there are plans to inaugurate the train service between Indore and Guwahati on July 6. Minister of state for Railways Manoj Sinha flagged off the much awaited train on June 30. However it got delayed owing to official formalities. The Railways board has already finalised the time table of the Indore-Guwahati weekly express and the train is expected to run between Indore and Guwahati every Thursday and leave from Guwahati for Indore every Sunday.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. .
