One Of The Oldest Trains Of India, Jamalpur - Uren/Dhanauri Shramik Gaadi Ceases Operation From Today.
It Started Running From 8th February 1862, Just After The Railway Workshop Started It's Operations.
Shramik Trains were meant for workers of Jamalpur Railway Workshop.
These...
more... trains brought workers to Jamalpur in the morning from Sultanganj, Dhanauri, Munger and other adjacent areas and then took them back at their destinations in the evening.
These trains had extreme priority- None of the other Trains Overtook them.
In Total, 3 Shramik Trains Were In Operation - Jamalpur To Sultanganj, Kajra And Munger. Kajra Shramik Gaadi Was Later Extended To Uren And Then Till Dhanauri. Munger Sharmik Gaadi Stopped Running From 2006 Due To Gauge Conversion From Metre Gauge To Broad Gauge.
Locally These Trains Are Also Known As 'Coolie' Gaadi.
Ceasing It's Operation Without Providing Any Alternative Is A Total Stupid Decision. Indian Railways Is Slowly And Slowly Taking Away All The Amenities And Facilities From Jamalpur Railway Workshop. This Should Stop Immediately.
Adios! We'll Miss You! 😞😞
