The Bhusawal railway station will soon have two escalators and an equal number of elevators catering to passengers travelling across eight platforms.
Bhusawal junction connects train traffic coming from Nagpur, Khandwa and Mumbai and has eight platforms to help passengers cross over between trains heading for their respective destinations.
Bhusawal divisional railway manager SK Gupta said the railway station would soon get two escalators and two lifts to serve passenger movement. "There was a high demand from passengers seeking arrangement that could help them scale the foot over-bridge to cross from platform to

the other," Gupta said.
The construction of escalators and lifts is part of the Railway Board decision to arm the big stations and junctions with the facility for easier movement of the passengers.
The existing foot over-bridge that lies at the centre of the platforms will have escalators while the FOB under construction (towards Nashik-end) will be equipped with elevators.
The escalators and the elevators will be raised on full length joint platform numbers 1 and 3 and platform numbers 4 and 6.
The platform numbers 2 and 5 are small ones that occupy only a section of these joint platforms and act as termination points for the trains coming from Mumbai and Nagpur directions, respectively. The passengers from these platforms will ultimately use the facilities on joint platforms.
The luminaries at Bhusawal railways station will also be replaced by light emitting diodes (LED) fittings instead of regular fluorescent or compact fluorescent lamps (CFL).
The officer also informed that the mainline electrical multiple unit (MEMU) rakes stationed at Bhusawal is likely to be put to use in a month's time. The MEMU has only one driver and does not have an assistant driver. To operate the train the driver has to be given training to the effect. Besides, the running of MEMU is also waiting the clearance from the safety commissioner.
"Once the safety commissioner approves it, the MEMU is likely to operate between Nashik and Bhusawal. It could take a month's time," Gupta said.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...
