Finally some work has begun for new stabling lines on the Binny Mill land. 2 bridges are being built over the Binny Mill road - the road connecting Binny Mill to Goods Shed Road. You can see the 2 structures ready to be installed on the foundation. The stabling line work too is coming along well. The peripheral wall is being built and the earth works are underway. You can also see a lot of empty space available for further works. The blue shed seen is the SBC ETS. The land exchange happened many years ago. Railway funds being available now, this work has started, as can be seen in pics 1 -14.
land the state got (state exchanged land and also gave railways extra money) is also being used, but that work is in much more advanced state. This land is near the rear entrance of SBC and will be used for Okalipuram eight lane signal free corridor. The Okalipuram flyover will ease congestion towards the rear entry of SBC. New railway bridge towards YPR from SBC (PF 8, 9, 10) is being built too as part of this project, as can be seen in pics 15-22.

Maga, do you know if there are any constraints developing Nayandahalli station, they have good amount of space before PF-1, also there is a defunct track(rusted) but electrified for a few metres which can easily accommodate 18 coaches before PF-1 near the entrance of the station, why not develop it as stabling line atleast.

How will this new bride towards YPR be used? Is it a single line till Malleswaram from SBC as of now?

SBC-MWM-YPR has 2 lines. Both are single lines with no track switching mechanism in between. There are 3 lines for some distance from SBC, 3rd line is mainly used for shunting rakes (reversing) from PF to pitlines. This bridge too has 3 lines on it.
See pic 17 - that is the old underpass (blue painted with pictorial representations) which had 4 (2+2) lanes below it.
Now this eight lane corridor to be built needs to have more lanes under the railway lines right? Hence new bridges are being built.
- The old one is closed as you can see, and new one (some 3 lanes wide) is already under use - that's how vehicles now pass from one side to another.
- You can see 2+2 lanes new bridges on the right of the old one too (pics 15, 16).
- The old one, not sure whether they will demolish or widen that too.
- On top they may retain just the 3 lines or add more mainly for shunting.

Yes. Some progress is happening. Now SBC will get 3 more entry points: already it has the main, rear (PF 7-8), and from railway colony FoB towards PF 10. Now it will get:
1. New vehicle entry due to this project, which is almost done and joins the station right in front of rear ticketing building PF 7-8.
2. A new front entrance will be right in front of "Majestic" Metro station.
The PF 10 entry for "KSR City railway station" Metro users, which will be a new FoB, but work seems to have stopped.
The state paid a lot of money to IR for the land a few years ago. None came to SWR, if it had, then stabling lines would have been done by now.
When the 8 lane project is being done, I hoped IR will build a new 2 line bridge (just 200 m or so) from the outer towards MWM to the outer toward BNC, if they had, then the trains from MWM could have used PFs 1-7 too rather than struggle for just 3 PFs. But they just kept the money they got from state rather than give it to SWR to improve the connectivity and stabling issues. Well.... atleast now they have given some money for work... that's good.
