Happy Birthday Cg Express on 01 January 1977 Train Service was Started from ( Chattisgarh Region of Madhya Pradesh now a separate state) to cater its capital bhopal was Started Between Bilaspur to Habibganj-Bhopal
Later on this train was extended to Nzm in 1987 and was again extended till amritsar in 1997

The inaugural date here on IRI is incorrect, sir. BSP-BPL express was introduced sometime between May-August, 1976. By 1977, it was already running till NZM ( A link express between VSKP-R was introduced to connect to this train at Raipur and proceed to Delhi, in the 1977 budget). By 1985, it was already extended to Amritsar.

Well, for starters, you can check the 1977 All India Timetable that is available on IRFCA. Here is the SER portion (BSP-NGP) click here (NGP-ET) click here (BPL-NZM) click here . The 1977 TT has the train listed as 137/138 BSP-NZM Chattisgarh express.
