* Shatabdies are short distance trains (240-700km), so have more stops or shorter avg. interstop run than Rajdhanies(580-2850km). But prioriy of shatabdies is high because same rake has to return back and the train has to be right time, else the departure of the return late shall be delayed or arrival at final destination shall be too late.
* from Delhi,
(1) Northward and /southward Shatabdies are kings- NDLS-BPL/CDG/ASR gets more priority than Rajs in matter of speed.
(2)...
more... Where as Eastward and West ward shatabdies are equals. NDLS-CNB/LKO & BCT-ADI Shatabdies get priority at par with Raj.
(3) NDLS-AII Shatabdi too get higher priority which is vital in view of some single line sections in the route.
* The reason for the above is the fact that Rajs operating on NDLS-MUM/HWH are true 130kmph super Rajs with avg speed of 85-90kmph and the rajs on NDLS-MAS route give 75-80kmph and the NDLS-JAT give just around 65kmph.
