The last time I observed, the arrangement was like this -
VSG-SBC coaches are at the VSG end of the train when starting from VSG (last coaches). When the train arrives at Londa, the loco that brought 17305 would already be waiting on the BGM line with the UBL coaches. As soon as the train from VSG arrives at Londa PF2, the waiting UBL portion is shunted back to the platform and attaches to the SBC coaches. The SBC coaches are decoupled from the main train, and the 17305+02779 coaches are shunted to PF1 where the 02779 coaches are decoupled. The 17305 coaches again move towards BGM, reverse and couple themselves to the 12779 coaches and the train leaves towards Pune. The...
more... locomotive that brought the Goa express from VSG to Londa would then reverse and pull into PF1 and attach to the SBC coaches. Shortly before Rani Chennamma arrives at Londa, the loco with the SBC coaches heads towards the VSG line. It will reverse towards the station and attach the SBC coaches to Rani Chennamma. Despite the complicated shunting, the staff at Londa handles the operations very well.
