SWR Reclassifies Stations Based on Passenger Usage
Ministry of Railways have decided to change the criteria of classification of Railway stations. Until now this was based solely on ticket sales. This has now been modified to include both annual earnings as well as Passengers handled.
On SWR the classification will move from A1, A, B, D etc. to non-Suburban groups NSG-1, 2, 3 etc. and halt stations viz HG-1, 2 etc. on South Western Railway, SBC (Bengaluru City) & YPR (Yesvantpur)

Annual earnings) ,47 stations as D (between Rs. 60 lakhs and 4 Crores Annual earnings), 188 E category (less than Rs.60 lakhs Annual earnings) and 98 Halt Stations were in F category.Stations in top category (NSG-1) will be KSR Bengaluru followed by Yeshvantpur and Mysuru in NSG-2 have annual earning of Rs. 500 Cr. Yup I saw this one in SWR Website the whole list but 15 Stations being upgraded and 40 halts also being upgraded but i want knw which are 15 stations going to fall under A category with Earnings from 8 Cr to below 60 Cr. If i consider 15 station upgraded as A Category stations but in those some stations earning not evem more than 5 Cr like Chamarajnagar, Nanjangud Town etc So i think these Upgraded stations are not A Category one

these upgradations are done based on the footfall and not based on the earnings: for example Hindupur is not included (i wonder) but Kuppam and Malur are included , earnings of Hindupur,Kuppam and Malur are 10.27 cr, 7.77 cr & 3.12 cr respectively for the year 2016-17 and passengers ( in million) of the same stations are in the order of 1.30,2.06 & 3.24 respectively.Hindupur has more earnings when compared to Kuppam & Malur , but less footfall and so is not included .

Okay As per Footfalls We can see Kengeri have 3.22 now compared to 2.14 previous so an increase of 1.08 with also good Earnings of 25.17Cr but its in NSG-4 still while take Bangarpet with 7.15 Footfalls now compared to 6.74 previous so an increase of 0.41 only with Earning of 15.25 Cr so its in NSG-3 so Why difference in such? Kengeri deserves more to be in NSG-3 than bangarpet as per Footfalls and also as per Earnings but its not so i am getting is they really judging no of footfalls and earnings or some what extra things from Political polish i dont know...

And also I dont think these Upgraded stations will be for A category as their they clearly mentioned the earning range of A category stations from 8Cr to below 60 Crore and they didnt mention footfalls range also. so May be Mandya and bangarpet Might be Eligible regarding other 13 upgraded station they cant make them A Category i think as many other stations with good earnings are not under A category yet in SWR.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...
