DMRC’s operational plan will be added here when known.
Trial runs (testing) on this new line commenced on a small 6.5 km portion of the line between Shakurpur and Mayapuri in June 2017, and were then extended further south to South Campus (Dhaula Kuan) in August. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation completed testing in early February 2018 following which a thorough 3-day final inspection was conducted by the CMRS between February 26-28.
This 20.6 km section of the line includes 12 stations (8 elevated and 4 underground) at Majlis Park, Azadpur (interchange with Yellow Line), Shalimar Bagh, Netaji Subhash Place (interchange with Red Line), Shakurpur, Punjabi Bagh West, ESI Hospital, Rajouri Garden (interchange with Blue Line), Mayapuri, Naraina Vihar, Delhi Cantonment and South Campus
Post-inauguration, Delhi Metro’s network will expand to 251.5 km with 9 metro lines and 182 stations under its belt. Stay tuned for a post on its inauguration!
