One more thing cost impact due to delay not matters more as Railways enter agreement after finalizing the Capital amount with discount and negotiations with contractor and also railways can take good discount as double line to be electrified which makes more RKM electrification..But When u get one line Electrified by one contractor and everything like substations Scada Controlling he will design for Single line with provisions for future double line but the exact Testing commissionin he will do for Single line as other line will be out of his scope of contract and for that other line railways need to call New Tender and again decide lowest bid or any contractor to award the project and u can't claim more discount and Also cost will be sure more due to cost impact of delay of market rate for the items going to be used. And also new contractor adds his overheads...
makes cost of project more compared to single contractor who put his overheads for both lines RE. So now u say One contractor for both line with single overhead cost is profitable or Two contractors separately wit their separate company overheads add on on project cost is profitable ? I agree if delay for RE until doubling is complete makes more cost impact but that can be suppressed with contractor giving more RKM for RE and taking good Discount and also getting single company overhead on project cost which in turn makes no big deal on cost impact increase due to delay..

for plains. if they dont feel doubling not needed at present then electrification is good solution. example. CBE MTP. but future needs pointing doubling means better to double then electrify

I want to clarify one thing clearly I am not against Electrification of routes I am just saying the way which is mostly adopted by the IR and Contractors like RVNL in Doubling and Electrification process. When IR knows the route going to get Doubled and it already doubling sanctioned then at such routes Electrification can be made after complete doubling if single line routes with no scope of doubling in near future then such routes can be Electrified as Doubling process not at all come into picture their so only RE they do for Single line routes..so for this purpose only IR made statement about Electrifying all routes of IR in that All routes are not Double line routes na single line routes also come so such places priority wise Electrification is going on but for the Trunk routes and HDN or Port connectivity routes like Vasco Chennai they...

don't do Such mixup works They know doubling is sure required so they waiting to complete double line and start RE works. We can see GTL HPT doubled decade back so now it's RE work started but HPT UBL almost doubled only left small patches of single line and line joining at some stations. I even read one document about this doubling during doubling they consider this route will be Electrified just assumption they took so as per that Signal heights and S&T works have some changes for Electrification of routes so RVNL prior made provisions during doubling that in future if this routs get RE sanction so it should be easy to implement RE without changing Signaling systems interlocks etc etc..Which already suitable for Electrification process.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...
