An important meeting of Members of Parliament (MPs) of Parliamentary constituencies in Jabalpur division of West Central Railway (WCR) was held on Friday. In this meeting, all the eight MPs of division participated and appreciated the efforts being made by the WCR in Jabalpur division for the development of passenger facilities, cleanliness, electrification and facilities being provided to passengers on railway platforms.
Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister, MP Mandla, Faggan Singh Kulaste presided over the meeting. In the meeting, MPs raised issues of development and problems of their respective areas and also gave advice on development of the facilities. that, the advice and suggestions given by MPs helps in resolving issues and chalking out workplan. He added, in all the A Grade stations, LED light and Wifi facility is available. In 19 stations, lift and at 10 stations, escalators have been installed.
DRM Jabalpur, Dr Manoj Singh presented detailed report on work done in Jabalpur Division. He said, for Jabalpur, the day is historic as the passenger trains to Delhi from Jabalpur would be plied on electric route. In the meeting, former Union Minister and Member of Parliament Damoh, Prahalad Singh Patel, appreciating the works initiated by WCR, asked to give stoppage to Shreedham Express in Shreedham (Gotegaon) station, to ensure availability of electricity and water in Patharia station, Bandakpur Station road should be constructed, to give stoppage to Rajkot Express at Madan Mahal station and to ply train for southern India via Damoh. Sidhi MP, Rithi Pathak advised to start train from Singrauli for Jabalpur in evening and to give stoppage to Intercity train in Joba station. Hoshangabad MP, Udai Pratap Singh demanded to restart shuttle train connecting Itarsi with Satna, to develop shed at Kareli, Narsinghpur, Gadarwara stations. Khajuraho MP, Nagendra Singh discussed the issue of timing of trains and emphasised to maintain the punctuality of trains.
MP (Rajya Sabha), Kailash Soni also supported the demand of Itarsi-Satna shuttle train, to construct road outside the station passing through under bridge. Rewa MP, Janardan Mishra asked to increase frequency of Rewa-Rajkot train and to start a train between Rewa and Nagpur. He also demanded to extend Garib Rath train upto Rewa from Jabalpur. Banda MP, Bhairo Prashad Mishra highlighted the problems being faced by passengers due to lack of development in Markundi station and also demanded to give stoppage to Sarnath and Anand Bihar trains. In the meeting, WCR GM, DRM Jabalpur, Additional GM, Pradeep Kumar, Senior Deputy GM, Naresh Lalwani, PCTM, Manoj Seth, PCCM, S K Das, Rakesh Argal, Sudhir Sarvaria, Sachin Shukla, Anand Kumar, Vishwa Ranjan and others were present.
