Trip Report: Quick Prilgrimage to Kumbakonam and Thanjavur

Thanking the goddess of luck.. i managed to get Tatkal tickets in 2A from SBC to KMU on 16232 for friday 23rd and return from TJ to SBC on 24th Saturday... Lets start with the onward journey...

hour before the scheduled departure.. Marikuppam passenger was leaving as we entered PF 2. As usual Raj LHB lying in the same place with no care.. I swear the condition is degrading day bt day for these coached.. People have spit pan on rakes and is now started looking ugly... I pity this.. SWR officials please do something about it.. The next one to enter PF2 was KCG express with its extra long rake hauled by WDP-4B... and on the other side on PF1 was AJJ-SBC pass entering with AJJ WAM-4.. the one thing i noticed was this pass had an extra SL coach attached after the SLR and seemed regular as this coach had route board attached on sides... To follow the long KCG exp was the short DPJ Pass which came in with the regular WDG3A.... Well almost on time came in our hero for the day MYS-MV Express with the ED WDM-3D 11195. Ok now the strange thing or may be not... this train being a SWR train was hauled by ED WDM.. generally this is not the case they should have got KJM loco's like how 12257 & 16527 gets... ED alcos are the regular link for this one though... We occupied our seats A1 19 & 21 along with a family going to TJ.. My wife wanted a SL berth so i told the gentlemen if he would fancy a LB for a swap for his SLB.. he readily agreed... As regular the train halted at BYPL for 12678 crossing... waited for like 20 mins and once he crossed we started off.. by then my family and the other family became friends and we started cracking jokes and surprisingly.. they were also returning in the same train back in saturday and we would be meeting in the same coach once again.. Reached CRLM and HSRA 30 mins late which as per the AC attender is regular..Well guys beware no vendors / no pantry in this train.. pls get your food in SBC itself.. Food at HSRA is horrible.........
