One of the worst maintained trains of SER, Ispat never reaches on time in any of the stations after TATA. The train's cleanliness also gets hampered thanks to its 700 km journey throughout the day. The chairs of the 2S coach are also painful and it is enough for you to give neck spasm. If you are returning to HWH, then do not hesitate to alight at Santragachi as this train gets stranded at Tikiapara carshed for a awful amount of time. However, the food of the train is good, you should try the milk tea, aloo bonda and bread pakora which the pantry boys serve as snacks.

Ota ami face kori ni. I always got swift entry to KGP while returning.
Freight traffic after TATA never lets this train to be on time. Cleanliness is a big factor specially in the return journey as SM is not at all proper.
In the return due to heavy traffic after Kharagpur towards Howrah...due to availability of only 1 no. Down line at evening time from kgp to hwh, as both middle and up line after 4 pm in evening gets for running up trains ..so only 1 down line is available for running all down trains including emu, memu, express, sf, premium trains like duronto, humsafar...so Ispat gets delays after Tata and majorly after Kharagpur towards Howrah......4th line Survey between Kgp to Src is underway....hope project gets Approval in comming Budgets and SER will complete it in 4 yrs from then.....So in future after 4th line between Kgp and Src and 3rd line between Tata and Kgp...this late will go
Worst train...board from hwh to ckp rou only...max...u cannot travel more than that..seating!! In return direction don't board this at all...most of the days when it will reach hwh...u may not get anything to go kolkata...stay the night at hwh. Specially now no trains from Jsg/Rou/ckp reaches hwh on time...u cannot do reservation based on train timing...in case u need to join office on the same day...
