CHANDIGARH: Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation Limited (IRSDC) has floated fresh tenders to give 28 acres of land near Chandigarh railway station on lease for 99 years. Earlier, IRSDC had given the same land on lease for a period of 28 years. Chandigarh railway station owns 493.6 acres of land in the city, which covers the station building area, residential and open land in the city.As per the plan project, IRSDC will take over the land for developing world class station after bagging a final nod from the railway board. In its proposal, the IRSDC wished to make studio apartments, flats and service flats on the railway land near Chandigarh railway station.As per the records, there is 50 lakh square feet of land available for developmental projects near Chandigarh railway station.
